Celebration of Family
As the world careens away from family values, and our time is filled with so many other things to do, we have reserved tonight as “Family Night” at the Days of ’47 Rodeo.

When celebrating the coming of the pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley – one thing we have to remember is the importance of the family to those people who sacrificed to come by handcart and wagon to settle among these mountains.

Rodeo, as well, is a family sport, where generations young and old come to watch family members and others compete. Being a sport that was born from rural roots, rodeo carries on the traditional importance of the family.

Even within our Days of ’47 Rodeo committee families work together each year to produce this great event.

Mom, you take care of the activity – and let Dad deal with the lesson and treats. Tonight will be a family night you don’t have to fight with the kids to hold!
